8/11(金)よりブダペスト在住のアーティスト
エミール ハルモスの展示をスタート致します。

彼とは数年前よりインスタグラムを通して知り合いました。
その時はどんな人物なのか、どこに住んでどのように活動をしているのかさえ分からないままDMでやり取りをしていました。

今回の展示に向けた声明を初めて読んだ時に彼の考えている事や
特徴的な作品のベースとなる思考を少し理解出来た気がします。(気がするだけかも)

その捉え方が分からない不思議な感覚と
独特なラインを是非ご自身の目で感じてみて下さい。

アーティストによる今展示への声明です。

“タイトルの “Hollow boat”（うつろぶね）は1803年に
日本の海岸に現れた不思議な未確認飛行物体とその乗組員から着想を得ています。

私にとって絵を描く事は人間と共に地球を共有している異次元の存在達とのコミュニケーションを取るための手段である。例えばその異次元の存在達に蟻が作った工芸品を見せる準備ができたと伝える事なんだ。私たちはそんな存在たちがここにいて、それらが変わらずここにいることを知っている。だからもうかくれんぼをするのはやめよう。

ある絵は出発点であり、ある絵は描きながら交わされる会話の結果である。異次元の存在からの助言は古い絵画や音楽に隠されたメッセージとして現れる。

願わくば絵画が未来や過去の世代の人間が自分自身へのメッセージを見つける為の手段として役立つ事を願っている”

Emil Halmos (b1982)
is a self taught painter living in Budapest.

The painting process for me, is a way to pick up communication with the interdimensional beings we share Earth with and tell them the ants are ready for their crafts to be shown. We know they are here and have been here forever, so please stop the hide and seek.Some paintings are the starting point, some are the result of this conversation taking place while painting and drawing, but guidance from them also comes as hidden messages in old paintings and music. The paintings, hopefully, can be of use for future and past generations in finding their own messages.
The title „Hollow boat” is a reference to the misterious appearance of a uso and its occupant with a box on the shores of Japan in 1803.
